Had to cut space on the OMC bell housing to fit the starter. Still the engine over reved, too much power, not enough prop. Took prop to prop shop and they put a cup to the prop. Web25. apr 2016. · On the 3.0 engine there is a core plug at the rear of the engine, behind the flywheel. When this leaks you will get water at the very back of the boat. Fixing is not easy. The engine has to be removed, and once it is removed, the bell housing must come off, and then the flywheel must come off in order to gain access to the core plug area.

If my arm was a foot longer and had more bends in it I could reach right up to where the shaft goes in to the fly wheel and spray oil on it or unbolt it.
